What Stays On Your Device
Everything you type into the calculator, such as your customer type, voltage, kWh figures, operating hours and lunch break, is worked out in your browser. It is never sent to VHALT.
If you use Copy Link to Share, your figures are placed in the part of the link after the # symbol. That part is never sent to a server, but anyone you give the link to can read it.
The page also saves one small note in your browser to remember that you have already entered your email, so we do not ask again. It holds no personal details, and clearing your browser data removes it.
What We Collect
Your email address. We ask for it before showing your result, or if you use the Stay Updated box. We also record whether you ticked the optional box to receive updates.
Counts that do not identify you. Each time someone opens the page, reaches the email step, goes back, leaves it or completes it, one line is added to a log. It contains the name of the step, the time and a random number made up for that visit, which lets us see how far one visit got. The number is not linked to you, is never sent with your email, and is forgotten when you close the tab. The log holds no email, no figures and nothing that identifies you.
Why We Collect It
We use your email address to give you access to your result. If you ticked the optional box, or used Stay Updated, we may also send you occasional electricity updates from the VHALT Energy Desk. Those messages will include a way to unsubscribe.
We use these counts to understand how many people use the tool and where they stop, so we can improve it.
We do not sell your email address or share it with other companies for their own marketing.
Where It Is Kept
Email addresses and the counts are stored with a third-party online service provider that VHALT uses. We take reasonable steps to protect them.
We keep your email address until you ask us to delete it or you unsubscribe. We also review the list once a year and remove addresses we no longer need.
Your Choices
You can ask us at any time to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it or delete it. You can withdraw your consent to updates, and unsubscribe, whenever you like.
